Exciting Progress: Historic Airliners DLC Now 56% Complete

Historic Airliners DLC – 56% Complete

We’ve crossed an exciting milestone: the Historic Airliners DLC is now 56% complete. That means we’re just over halfway through development, and everything remains firmly on track for the planned January 2026 release you see on the roadmap.

The Historic Airliners DLC is designed to celebrate aviation history by bringing classic aircraft back into your fleet. So far, we’ve completed 41 aircraft models, supported by 49 seat maps, each carefully built to reflect the unique layouts and quirks of their era. From icons like the Concorde and Boeing 747 family to smaller but equally distinctive aircraft such as the Cessna Crusader and Dornier 328, the lineup is already shaping up to be something special.

To put this milestone into perspective, the remaining aircraft are already deep into modelling and configuration, with several nearing the final polishing stage. As we move through the second half of development, updates will become more frequent and more detailed, especially as we begin refining cabin layouts, tuning economics, and preparing the final batch of aircraft for testing. The pace is only increasing from here.

Pricing & Passenger Satisfaction

One question we’ve seen raised on Discord is how pricing will work for aircraft that are decades old. After all, if you were to buy a ticket on a 50+ year-old aircraft today, passengers might expect bargain prices, but that doesn’t align with how our satisfaction algorithm works.

To keep things fair and immersive, we’re applying inflation-adjusted pricing. In other words, ticket prices will be calculated as if the aircraft were being purchased new in its original era, then brought up to modern values using inflation. This ensures that passengers perceive the experience as premium and historically accurate, rather than feeling short-changed by “old” aircraft. It’s a small but important detail that helps maintain balance across the simulation and keeps satisfaction scores consistent.

Expanding the Historic Airliners DLC Experience

As development continues, the Historic Airliners DLC is becoming far more than a simple aircraft pack; it’s evolving into a curated celebration of aviation history. Each aircraft is being built with a focus on authenticity, from cabin layouts to seating density to the subtle quirks that defined different eras of commercial flight. This DLC isn’t just about adding more planes to your fleet; it’s about giving you the opportunity to operate aircraft that shaped the early decades of passenger travel. Whether you’re flying long‑range classics like the DC‑7 or experimenting with early jet‑age icons such as the Comet and 707, every model is designed to feel distinct and meaningful within the simulation.

We’re also taking care to ensure these aircraft integrate smoothly with modern Passenger2 systems. That means maintenance profiles, era‑appropriate seating, and balanced economics that reflect how these aircraft would perform if introduced today. The goal is to let you build historically inspired fleets without sacrificing gameplay balance or passenger satisfaction. As more aircraft are completed, we’ll continue refining the experience so the Historic Airliners DLC feels cohesive, polished, and rewarding from day one.
